### Additional lighting controls

* **HDR lighting** toggle: adds realistic high-dynamic-range environment lighting to your scene
* **Subsurface scattering** toggle: simulates light passing through translucent materials such as skin, wax, and marble

## Detail Boost

The Detail Boost setting increases surface fidelity in five steps.

| Level | Effect |
| - | - |
| Off | Native generation detail only |
| Low | Minor surface refinement |
| Medium | Balanced quality boost |
| High | Aggressive detail enhancement |
| Ultra | Maximum AI-driven detail recovery |
| Extreme | Experimental maximum quality mode |

### Detail enhancement mode

Choose a target for the boost:

| Mode | Target |
| - | - |
| Surface | Macro surface structure |
| Texture | Color and material texture |
| Geometry | Edge and vertex precision |
| All | All pipelines equally |
| Smart | AI-selected best target |

Additional toggles complement the boost:

* **Detail preservation**: keep existing detail while enhancing
* **Surface refinement**: smooth and correct surface anomalies
* **Micro detail recovery**: recover fine details lost in low-resolution inputs

## Facial Enhancement

Facial Enhancement AI applies specialized processing to human and character models.

<Accordion title="facial_feature_sharpening">
  Refines edges around the nose, mouth, and jawline.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="skin_texture_enhancement">
  Adds realistic pore- and skin-tone variation without artificial smoothing.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="facial_symmetry_correction">
  Automatically corrects asymmetrical facial features while preserving character identity.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="skin_tone_adjustment">
  Normalizes or enhances skin tone consistency across the model.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="hair_detail_enhancement">
  Adds strand-level detail to eyebrows, eyelashes, scalp and facial hair.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="expression_enhancement">

  Displacement mapping dramatically increases file size. Use it only for print-quality or cinematic workflows where you need extreme close-up detail.
</Note>

## Design System Notes

The SmartOptionsPanel uses a glassmorphism design language with a dark theme and orange, blue, and purple accent colors. Custom CSS animations add micro-interactions throughout the UI.

| Animation | Purpose |
| - | - |
| Pulse glow | Active processing indicators |
| Scan line | Loading state for generated previews |
| Shimmer | Highlight interactive surfaces |
| Float | Gentle elevation on focus |
| Aurora | Ambient background motion |

The panel supports accessibility preferences through the `prefers-reduced-motion` media query and offers a high-contrast mode. The layout follows a mobile-first responsive strategy with touch-optimized inputs and large tap targets on all controls.

## Troubleshooting

<Accordion title="Build Errors">
  During the build step, ESLint and TypeScript warnings are ignored so a single type conflict will not block a release. If your build still fails, delete `.next/` and `node_modules/.cache`, then run `pnpm install` again to regenerate `pnpm-lock.yaml`.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="API Issues">
  Verify that `NEXT_PUBLIC_RODIN_API_KEY` and `NEXT_PUBLIC_RODIN_API_URL` are set in `.env.local`. Make sure the `NEXT_PUBLIC_APP_URL` value matches the deployed domain in your CORS configuration.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="3D Model Not Rendering">
  Check that `@react-three/fiber`, `@react-three/drei`, and `three` are installed at compatible versions. Open your browser console and confirm WebGL is enabled and no shader compilation errors appear.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Form Validation">
  You must provide at least one image upload or a text prompt before submitting. Individual uploaded files must not exceed the size limit shown in the UI.
</Accordion>
